A Psalm of David.
23 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
David spent many nights staring at the miriad of stars in the sky and praying and singing to God. As God was with him when he killed the bear and the lion he knew how big God was and how powerful so when he heard Goliath’s challenge he had no hesitation in accepting it!
Like David we need to know just even a fraction of how big and powerful the Trinity is and lay all our troubles on Them in the name of Jesus as we have been given the right to do so. We have also been given the authority to carry out signs and miracles with the help of the Holy Spirit.
We have not been given the Holy Spirit to keep a church seat warm but need to start asking what God”s plan for us is and implementing it. Most of the revivals of the past did not start with mega churches or even pastors but with the prayers of believers who love Jesus and want to see changes in their country and the wider world.
